ROCKNESS UP FOR BEST SMALL FESTIVAL!
They NEED YOU…(AND YOUR VOTES!)
ROCKNESS FRIDAY NIGHT HEADLINER KASABIAN UP FOR BEST BRITISH BAND & BEST LIVE BAND!
Organisers of ROCKNESS – the most beautiful festival in the world – are calling on fans to help the festival walk off with the BEST SMALL FESTIVAL accolade at next month’s NME Awards.
And it could be a double whammy as KASABIAN, who headline RockNess this summer, are up for BEST BRITISH BAND and BEST LIVE BAND!
Voting couldn’t be easier and no registering is required. Simply go to www.NME.com/awards <http://www.NME.com/awards> and start clicking. One lucky voter plus a friend could win tickets to attend the star studded bash.
These latest nominations follow hot on the heels of the festival’s triumphant LINE UP OF THE YEAR win at the 2010 UK Festival Awards for its ridiculously well curated line up that included The Strokes, Leftfield, Fatboy Slim, Aphex Twin, Vampire Weekend, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires and Pendulum.
With KASABIAN, THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS and PAOLO NUTINI set to rock the loch this June as headliners, and heaps of awesome electronic, dance and indie acts close to being announced, organisers have promised 2011 is the ‘Year of the ‘Ness’.
The winners will be announced at the NME Awards ceremony at the O2 Academy Brixton, London on 23 February 2011.
RockNess Festival Director, Jim King said, “To be nominated in such a strong category is an achievement in itself and so we’re thrilled to be in with a shot at winning something at this really prestigious Awards.”
RockNess 2011 takes place 10-12 June, 2011 in the village of Dores, close to Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Tickets available HERE
