DISAPPOINTED: Lyn and Donald Forbes plan to appeal to the Scottish Government against the refusal of planning consent
Councillors rejected a planning application for an 81-pitch camping and caravan park on the shores of Loch Ness yesterday because they feared it would be too big for the area.
Highland Council planning officials recommended the development at Foyers for approval, despite it being against the local plan, as they thought it would be of benefit to the local community.
The plan for 81 touring caravan pitches, 19 tents, six wigwams and camping pods, proposed by Foyers residents Lyn and Donald Forbes, attracted 64 letters of support and 51 letters of objection.
