Heritage:

Heritage is something passed down through generations, something that gives us a sense of place and belonging, that tells us about how our society developed over time.

Heritage is not just about buildings but is also people’s memories, cultures and traditions, the things that have fashioned communities. The past has created our present identity and may play its part in determining our future.

An understanding of Heritage can open the window between the past and the present, to help us relate to the traditions of the lives that went before us.

The Highlands are rich in Heritage and can play an important role in attracting visitors to our area. Listed below are links to many of the Heritage groups that are in the Loch Ness and Inverness area.
